If IF he gets all the promotions and the fighters behind him he can do it what can the bodies do about it ? They could take all the best fighters out of the weight classes and leave the lower fighters and the ones ready to retire in the sb's

It'll never happen. If it does still won't work in a fair way. Just look at how the Saudi representative already have their favourites. Wilder, Fury, DDD, Kabayal. And other deserving HW being left out in the cold.

This would be terrible for the sport!! As a life long MMA fan. And a hardcore MMA fan let me tell you. Even less big fights will be made under 1 super league. MMA has proven this. In 90s until around 2006. The top fights was split between the UFC and PrideFC so we missed some massive fights. The UFC Bought PrideFC. Then the top fights was split between The UFC And StrikeForceMMA. Eventually the UFC bought StrikeForceMMA. And now to this day big fights can’t happens as fighters are split between The UFC, BellatorMMA, PFL, OneChampionships.

Talent needs to be developed, imo the sanctioning bodies help fighters build a fan base& gain experience. As far as a Super League I prefer a tournament instead of a UFC type of deal.

Get rid of the sanctioning fees. Make only 6-8 boxing weight divisions only 1 belt per division. Yeah I can live with that no more ducking. Turki is on da right path

He wants to turn boxing into a UFC kind of structure which is not going to happen. The whole reason boxers make so much more than MMA fighters is because the event evolves around them, not the company. Once Turk unites all top fighters under 1 banner it's easier to control them because he has them on contracts.

I get what you're saying but how long before the Saudi league and ranking system becomes just as biased or corrupt as the others? My question would be how do you create a system that's beyond corruption. Like a points system that not only takes in wins loses and draws but also rounds won within the fights. once you have that then how do you fix the poor judging we see too often with boxing? I do like what the Saudis have done for boxing so far, I am still sceptical because I don't see any changes for the future going on yet it's all good atm because they're paying ridiculous money to make it good. How do they make it fair and keep it fair whilst keeping the sport self sufficient?

It's a tough move for sure Sporting, and there are so many different ways they could do it hey?... The sanctioning bodies only have themselves to blame, and it's ironic to imagine them now nervous and contemplating their grubby futures... A possible 'bad outcome' is that, thru a Saudi deal, we end up with *just another* Belt/Sanctioning body... 😱 One logical way they might avoid this, could be to *Buy Out* 1 or *multiple* of the existing sanctioning bodies... That way they could take ownership of existing infrastructure/fighters/rankings etc. With big bags of dough, (and good decisions), they should quickly become the *Main* belt, and the rest should unfold nicely... Sadly, I think this will remain a distant pipe dream...the promoters and sanctioning bodies will never give up control, and while we joke about the Saudis having infinite money, they clearly showed they have limits during the Canelo-Benavidez negotiations.

Why can Saudi put on the fights that the sanctioning bodies have avoided?

BAD BAD BAD for Boxing. Saudi's will turn boxing into the UFC model, where the actual fighters are at the BOTTOM of the food chain money wise. Dangerous Dangerous Dangerous. Getting rid of the sanctioning bodies I agree with, however that idea was already being floated in the USA by Andre Ward and Mayweather before the Saudi's BOUGHT IN.

I could see it working if of course the talent pool isn't static meaning that fighters are in and out of the league based on results and they hold the events internationally so as not to alienate any fan group. Football has a Premiere League for the best athletes, Baseball has a Major League for the best athletes and so on and so forth. Boxing really suffers from too many Chefs doing their own thing and spoiling the broth.

I think Turki will try to bring the Sanctioning Bodies on Board in some way because of their history and Turki has been about Inclusion not Division, He also Sponsored The WBC and WBA! But in my opinion, there’s a lot of Details need to come out and Questions Answered before We know If this will be a Good or Bad Thing for Boxing? I think these rankings aren't terrible.......but my thoughts Jared Anderson is ranked too high Tyson Fury split decision loss to Usyk - AJ two big losses to the same fighter.. I don't like this ranking a whole heap. Bloody big drop for Hrgovic Not sure about the Ajagba ranking - too high How about Justice Huni or Fraser Clarke, Otto Wallin

I guess Joyce having a win over both interim champions Dubois & Parker impressed the WBC. Hope Hrgovic gets a new trainer, before he comes back.

Hmm Ajagba higher up the rankings than Sanchez when Sanchez beat Ajagba. Same thing with Hrgovic and Zhang. Hunter beat Bakole and he doesn't feature here. Suslenkov beat Hunter and not mentioned either. Lol, Ortiz higher ( on the rankings ) than Wilder after he lost twice to Wilder. A win over someone higher than you doesn't count it seems, so how are they working this out and Anderson apparently is better than Wilder hmmm. Though still a much better ranking than the WBA.

Not done him dirty at all aj has stronger resume in the last few fights and done it better plus furys best win is now turning out to be a guy who can't beat anyone in the top 10

Joshua was dropped further down the rankings after his defeats to Usyk, so it seems quite logical to me.

The way I see it is if Luke can beat Usyk then he’d have to fight AJ as a mandatory.I’ve never been impressed by Sanchez.

No, they got it, Spot on Fury has been one of the biggest frauds in boxing, and even the WBC have finally opened their eyes to it.

no issues really with Fury and AJ ranking. I can see the argument about Deontay having been stayed as no1 before despite the losses but let's be honest, most of us thought he should't be ranked 1 after his losses to Tyson Fury. So having Fury ranked no2 is actually an improvement to what they did before in my view. One can argue that Fury only has had one loss so he should be ranked no1 which is fair enough and I can see why he can be ranked no1 but based on recent stuff and how Fury always loves to mess around, it's fair to put a more active and a man who fought more dangerous boxer as no1 which is AJ who has been looking really good. Agit, Efe, I do agree they seem to rank a bit too high. While Agit did well to secure wins over both Frank and Arslan but it doesn't warrant a no3 ranking for that. He needs more names before getting no3. Efe hasn't really fought anyone of note and lost to Frank. I do think it's nice to rank him high since he is fighting regularly at least for last year so deserves credits for that but he needs some better names on his record. Luis ortiz have no business in the top 15. Inactive and while he did fight this year agaisnt a journeyman but that is like 1 fight in 2 years sicne his fight with Ruiz was in 2022. He lost to Ruiz is one thing and even his win against Charles Martin wasn't really good since he was getting troubled and one can argue that Charles Martin was winning until Charles Martin got koed. That is not a good look for Luis Ortiz. He has not done enough especially in his most recent performances to warrant top 15. If they put Luis ortiz then they should put in Justin Huni, Hughie Fury in there instead.

Lyson foney is no longer world champion and is on his way out and the WBC have seen it comin so kind of sent him on his way but they also did the same kind of thing for him as they did for Wilder which was protect the money and let them do pretty much wot they liked and supported em in the process , IF he does fight Usyk again he will get knocked out and if he dosent then he retires , the WBC aren't stupid just corrupt as fuck 😂
